Adjusting a Menu – Option 1

Click on 'Menus' under the 'Structure' dropdown in the admin bar. On the screen that comes up, click on 'Edit Menu,'  beside 'Main Menu.' The following screen will allow you to drag and drop menu items to adjust positioning relative to one another, and adjust the wording of the menu links.

To adjust the positioning of the menu links, click on the crosshair icon next to the menu link title. This will allow you to drag and re-order the menu items. To edit the wording of a menu link, select ‘Edit’ under the Operations heading. Make the change in the Menu link title box and save by clicking the button at the bottom of the edit page. Save the new configuration by clicking the ‘Save Configuration’ button at the bottom of the Menu Link page and test when complete.

Adjusting a Menu – Option 2

When adding or editing a page on your website, you are able to add the page to the menu before publishing the page.

When editing a page, navigate to 'Menu Settings' in in the 'Advanced settings' tab near the bottom, or within the right-hand sidebar, click 'Provide a Menu Link'. This brings up a few options:

Menu Link Title

This should be the same as the Page Title, and is what will appear in your website’s menu system. Keep in mind that when you edit the name of your page, it's Menu Link Title will remain the same unless you edit it as well in the advanced settings for the page.

Description

This should not be used for your website. Please leave this field blank.

Parent Item

This is how you choose where the page will live within the website. The 'Parent Item' is the page that your new page will live under (ie. the News Archive page’s parent item is News & Events).

Weight

This affects where your page sits within multiple other pages that live under the same 'Parent Item'. The smaller the number, the higher up the page sits in the menu (-50 will sit higher up than -49, and 1 will sit higher than 2). If two pages under the same 'Parent Item' have the same weight number, they will be organized alphabetically.
