Content Sharing

Certain content types and pages are shared across the CRD websites. It's important to be aware of content sharing as shared content can only be edited at its source location for proper display.

Webdesk Tasks

The following tasks require advanced permissions and are for Webdesk reference only.

Sharing between sites

Some types of content are able to be shared between sites using feeds. The following links will direct you to more information on now a specific content type is shared and what fields are carried over.

Shared page content

Certain pages are shared across the websites. These pages are managed on the CRD main website and shared with other websites.

A "Share with all sites" checkbox is available on basic pages on CRD Main.

Examples of shared content pages include:

  • Accessibility
  • Privacy Policy
  • Disclaimer

If you attempt to edit one of these pages on a subsite you will see a message indicating the content is shared and providing you with the source URL. All edits to shared content on these pages need to be made at its source location.

The main description/body content field is shared (ie. the content WYSIWYG outside of the Content rows paragraph field) and the Hide Feedback/Territorial Acknowledgment checkbox values.

The Pages created on subsites can safely have values in other page fields on a per-site basis, such as the menu settings and content rows. This has been tested. Other fields not in the feed won't be affected/updated/deleted on subsequent feed runs.

Territorial acknowledgement

The Terrritorial Acknowledgement is shared across all websites and is managed on the CRD main site. To edit the Territorial Acknowledgement:

Configuration > Territorial Acknowledgement

Make your edits on the page and click "Save".

Manual sync of content feeds

If you need to manually sync the content sharing feed you can do so by selecting "feeds" under the content menu.

Choose the feed to sync and from the operations menu on the right, select the arrow and choose "import". Then click to confirm the import. This can be done on any site with content sharing enabled.
